    Charles Byron Guile, who is connected with the Empire Gas & Electric Company, at Geneva, is a highly esteemed and well known citizen of the community. He was born at Geneva, August 12, 1860, the son of George S. and Adelia Angeline (Trufant) Guile.

    George S. Guile was born in Cortland County, New York, September 29, 1818. He was successful as a tobacco grower and cigar manufacturer, and was located for many years at Geneva on lands which are west of the present site of the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station. He also operated a factory and large cigar store on Seneca Street. Mr. Guile died February 18, 1890, and is buried in Glenwood Cemetery, Geneva. He was married March 8, 1857, to Miss Adelia Angeline Trufant, the daughter of Christopher Trufant, who was a native of Cayuga County, New York. To Mr. and. Mrs. George S. Guile were born six children, of whom Charles Byron, the subject of this sketch, was the eldest.
