She was born June 2, 1839 in Quebec Canada and came here with her parents Peter and Bessie McGuire Murphy when she was two years old. She married twice, her first husband was John Mahar and thier's were the first marriage vows to be soleminized in St. Patrick's church. After Mr. Mahar's death she married Lee Zellars, who died about a year ago at thier home in Jordan. Two sons survive, William Mahar and George Zellars and there are 3 daughters, Mrs. Ida Murray, Mrs. John Corrigan and Mrs. Edward Kinnally. Beside the children there are five sisters, Mrs Kate French of Weedsport, Mrs. Lottie Stanson of Brooklyn, Mrs. Sarah Dunue of Wellsville, Mrs. Ellen Leonard and Mrs. Frances McIntyre of Jordan. Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kannally of Weedsport and 9 o'clock church service in St. Joseph's at Weedsport Wednesday and burial followed at Jordan.
