    Robert A. White, 69, of Montezuma, passed away on Dec. 22, 2016.
    He was the son of the late Phares Sr. and Elma Atkins White. Robert was a graduate of East High School. After high school he was drafted into the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War. Robert worked for McQuay International as a master scheduler while attending Auburn Community College. He also worked for Secor Lumber, and was a bus driver for Port Byron, and worked in various positions for the Town of Montezuma for many years. He also enjoyed working at the local dirt tracks.

    He is survived by his wife Lugene White, of Montezuma; daughter, Leslea O’Shaughnessy and her husband, David, of Montezuma; son, Chris White and his wife, Tracey, of Seneca Falls; brother, Phares White Jr. and his wife Ruth of Columbus, Ohio; step-grandchildren, Korissa, Adriona, Dakota, and Haylie-Noelle; niece, Diane White, of Ohio; nephews, Kevin and Dale White, of Ohio and special friends Dakota and Mickaila Bajdas.

    In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his sister Helen Lepak, nephew John White and numerous aunts and uncles.

    Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016 at Brew Funeral Home, 48 South St., Auburn. A funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with military honors.

    Burial will be in the spring at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Port Bryon.

    Contributions may be made to the Montezuma Fire Department Auxiliary, 8115 High Street, Montezuma, NY 13117 or to the Port Byron Fire Department Ambulance, P.O. Box 367, Port Byron NY 13140 in memory of Robert A. White.

Jones, wife of Orrin Jones of Fosterville. was instantly killed at 1" o'clock yesterday morning. The accident occuned at '"Stop 70" in the town of Montezuma. The limited cars do not stop at this station, and the motorman did not have time to apply the brakes when Mrs. Jones suddenly emerged from the station shelter and ran in front of the approaching car. Mis. .lories had been brought to the station from her home in Fosterville by her husband. She had planned a visit with friends and relative?, in Lock Merlin. She arrived at the stop al>out twenty minutes before the c;tr approached. Not understanding that the car was a through one Mrs. Jones hurried out of the shelter as it approached almost in front of it. waiving her handkerchief to tell the motorman to stop. The car struck her and threw her several feet away.The car was stopped ami the crew ami passenger- hastened to learn the result of the damage done. 1'csidents of the village of .Montezuma gathered quickly on the scene and farmers along the road to Fosterville were called on the telephone. Mr. Jones, who was stopped on his way home and told of the accident, returned to the station. He s 72 years of age and his wife was 70. He was deeply affected. Coroner A. .1. Formait of this city was notified and hlurried to the scene, lie gave permission to remove the body to the undertaking parlors of I.averne Newkirk in this city.
    Mrs. Jonc.s had married three times. Her first husband was William Randall. After his death she married J. M. White of Seneca Falls. She was again made a widow and ten years ago married Mr. Jones of Fosterville. town ofAurelius.
    Lewis Randall was her only sou,, she keaves one daughter, jfrs Vietta Hinckley. She is survived al»o by live sisters, twro of whom are.Mrs. Marthrt Hinckley of Auburn and Mrs. Ruth Lawrcnce of. Seneca Falls. Two of the other sisters reside in Grand Rapids and the fifth in Pottsville. Pa. The funeral Will take plaep Tuesday afternoon at Mrs. Jones' Hiome.Interment will be made in the family plot in FostcrviHe.
