    He had been ill about a mont h with general debility. Th e funeral service was private and wa s held a t his late home last night a t 7:30 o'clock at the home of his son. Fred H. Jones f 23 Odell street. Rev. Harry Tr e of the Advent Christian church, Brandywine avenue, conducted the service. Buria l will be today in th e Port Byro n cemetery at
    Port Byron. Mr. Jone s wa s born a t Port Byron. He was formerly of Stone Ridge and had been in this city since last fall.
    For many years he was engaged as superintendant of construction with McArthu r brothers company an d was with the J. O. Winsto n company ship builders before his retirement. Mr. Jones wa s engaged on th e Ashokan dam near New York and ha s been on many important projects throug h this country and Canada , including the Suez canal and worked on new drainag e canals in Illinois an d Texas. He leaves his wife, one daughter, five sons and a number of grandchildren .
